The Braves and Princesses of the mighty Laguna Nation are going camping in Joshua Tree National Park!  Grab your tents, sleeping bags, food (your chief will provide meal assignments), and hiking/climbing gear for an unforgettable adventure among the boulders of one of the most fantastic National Parks in the country!

Meals

Each tribe supplies its own meals, coolers, cooking equipment, and tableware.

There are picnic tables, BBQs and fire rings at each campsite. 

A fresh (potable) water spigot is located at the camp entrance, but you may want to bring your own supply of water.

 

Packing List

This is a desert campout, please be prepared with the following:

  • Bike helmet for climbing safely!
  • Gloves for climbing (climbing can lead to very sore hands!)
  • First Aid Kit
  • There is no water at the camping sites. Bring lots of drinking water!!
    Each tribe may wish to bring a 5 gallon contractor style insulated water jug that has a small spigot on the bottom. It could be used cooking, wash-up or drinking. There is a faucet at the Ranger station about 1 mile from camp
  • 3 days of clothing for cold, windy, rain, or warm sunny days and cold nights. The rough rocks will tear your clothes
  • Each tribe to bring its own firewood and food.
  • Tent and camp gear, cooking equipment, coolers, hiking shoes, hats, sunscreen, sunglasses
  • Shade awnings
  • Trash bags for campsite
  • There are clean pit toilets, no showers or similar amenities
  • Sleeping bag and Pillow
  • Toiletries, Towels
  • Day pack
  • Orienteering Compass, (the kind with the rotating bezel).
  • Walkie Talkies
  • Flashlights and lanterns
  • Vest and headband
  • Beach chairs
  • Travel games, books, balls, Frisbee, butterfly nets....
  • NOTE: - You should bring a low profile tent as the wind can be quite strong and it is also warmer if the temperature drops at night time.  The temperature can vary from 40F to 100F so dress appropriately
