CAMP SURF

Imperial Beach, CA 91932

Camp Surf Website

We stay in cabins and tents. The cabins have bunk beds with foam mattresses, so air mattresses are not necessary. There are tent sites are available on the beach for those who want to tent camp.

We are responsible for bringing our own housekeeping supplies: sleeping bags, towels, and pillows.

Warm showers are available.

Bring a variety of clothes as the weather could be anything from a balmy 80 degrees to a cool 60 degrees. Also, no matter what the daytime temperature is, it will be very cool at night for Campfire.

The camp will provide four meals for us: three meals on Saturday plus Sunday breakfast. Be sure to bring snacks and beverages for yourself and your daughter as the girls tend to get hungry between the mess hall meals. You should plan for late-morning, late-afternoon, and before-bed snacks on Saturday, and something for the ride home Sunday.

The “Sugar Shack” will be open on Saturday and Sunday for snacks and souvenirs, so be sure to bring some cash.

Surfing and Boogey-Boarding lessons, sand toys, arts & crafts, rock climbing and archery are some of the activities that will keep everyone busy.

Have a skit selected and practiced for Saturday night’s awesome Campfire!

Consider bringing firewood if your Tribe enjoys a fire at the cabin after the festivities. The camp will not have wood for purchase

Note: All YMCA events are drug and alcohol free

17th-19th, 2008

Arrival

Check-in starts at 4:00 p.m., and not a minute earlier.  There will be plenty of time to check in after 4:00 p.m., since Camp Surf is not providing dinner Friday night.

Leave Orange County early to avoid San Diego weekend getaway traffic on Interstate 5 South.

Friday Night Dinner

Friday dinner will be on your own. There are numerous restaurants and fast food places within walking or driving distance from camp. Enjoy a nice meal with your daughter alone, or gather as a tribe and go out together.

Be back at camp well before 8:00 p.m. for orientation and more fun by the Camp Surf staff.
