White’s Landing
Catalina Island, CA
888-829-5553
White’s Landing is located on the leeward side of Catalina at about the midpoint of the island. Our campsite is just over two miles from Avalon and is beautifully situated on more than 7 acres with a huge expanse of ocean front beach. The camp supports a variety of activities including swimming, snorkeling, kayaking, hiking, fishing, volleyball, basketball, and more.
We will be staying in canvas sided platform tents that were recently refurbished. They each have 4 sets of bunks with mattresses, and will accommodate up to 8 campers. The tents have a small outside seating area, are up and off the ground, and DO NOT have electricity. There are full use restrooms with flush toilets, hot showers, and electricity located close to our tent sites.
Please view pictures of the facility and activities on their website's photo gallery.
White’s Landing will be providing 7 excellent meals for us: Friday lunch and dinner, 3 square on Saturday, and breakfast and lunch on Sunday. There is a camp store that will be available to us and has a selection of cold beverages, snacks, and souvenirs for purchase.
Please Remember: All YMCA events are drug and alcohol free!
Sunrise is 6:00am, and
Sunset is 7:45pm, and cell service is limited at best.
Departure Information
Our boat company is Catalina Classics, which departs from the Catalina Express terminal inside the Queen Mary gate at 9:30AM, Friday, June 4th. Parking is $15 per day. Click here for driving and parking instructions. For boat questions call the office at (909) 625-6194 or 800-645-1423.
YOU MUST BE AT THE DOCK BY 8:30AM TO CHECK IN AND LOAD YOUR GEAR!
VERY IMPORTANT NOTE:
Hard-sided coolers are prohibited and will not be allowed on the boat. Please do not bring coolers to the dock as they will be turned away. We can bring small, “soft-sided”, over the shoulder cold bags in order to have chilled non-alcoholic beverages for ourselves and our Princesses.
We need every Tribe Chief/Tribe Leader to provide a physical count of all Dad’s and Daughter’s that step on the boat: This is a mandatory safety requirement. Your Tribe count must be collected at the time you step on the boat. The Nation Chiefs will accept all this information. This is not the number signed up but the actual number on board at the time of departure. If anyone joins the group that is not registered please make sure to tell the Nation Chiefs.
