One of the great features of the YMCA Indian Princess
Program is the chance to participate in events, activities and camp
outs. These events are planned by the Nation and are organized by
a host tribe and the YMCA. The popularity of these events makes
it necessary to book them well in advance, and to commit to a minimum
number of participants. Registration for those desiring to attend
are generally conducted far enough in advance of the event to provide
time to fill the minimum commitment and secure facilities and price
levels with the vendors.
The events, activities and camp outs have plenty of room to accommodate
all of those interested in participating. There are some events,
however, that are so popular that they quickly fill up. In those
instances a waiting list is formed. When people who are registered
drop out, people take their place from the waiting list.
It has been our experience that when people cancel close to the
time of an event, it places a terrible burden upon those on the
waiting list to arrange to attend the event on short confirmation
notice. The unfortunate result is that some of the spots go unfilled,
and people who could have attended with sufficient notice are now
unable to arrange their schedules and lose the opportunity to participate
in the event, activity or camp out.
As a solution to this problem, the Tribal Chief(s) of the Laguna
Nation have agreed to the following refund policy:
"Subject
to any event provider refund limitations or exceptions, a
refund of the event fee, less any event provider or other
related Nation assessments, shall only be granted upon condition
that cancellation notice is received by the Nation Chief,
or Co-Chief, by email, by no later than 15 days prior to the
commencement date of the event.
Except as provided above, all funds
from delinquent cancellations or event no-shows shall be forfeited
to the general fund of the Nation."

Policy
on Exceptions to the Refund Policy:
Tribe chiefs will be responsible for bringing requests
for exceptions to the policy to the nations co-chiefs
within 30 days of the event for consideration. |
